You may enjoy cooking solo in your small kitchen, but no one appreciates cooking in a kitchen that feels cluttered. If you feel like there’s just not enough room for everything in your kitchen, but it’s not quite the time for a kitchen remodel, keep reading.
One way to free up some counter space is to ditch the big knife block and utensil caddy. These two items may seem like they are organizing your knives and utensils, but they are wasting space and adding to your countertop clutter. Instead, add magnetic strips to wall space to store your knives and utensils within easy reach without taking up valuable counterspace.
Use Cabinet Doors
The shelves inside your cabinets are not the only useful place to store items. The inside of your cabinet doors can be a great spot to organize pot lids. Alternatively, use hooks to hang potholders and measuring cups.
Think Outside the Cabinet
Who said you are limited to only using the inside of your cabinets? The underside and exposed sides of your cabinets are underutilized spaces that can be used for hanging cups or storing spices, cutting boards, and more.
Add Tension Rods
Tension rods can be a good way to manage cabinet clutter. Arrange them vertically to organize baking sheets and cooling racks or hang them horizontally under your sink to hang cleaning supplies.
Don’t Forget Wall Space
If you have an open wall in your kitchen, this can be used to free up some space in your kitchen. You can create a pegboard organizer for your pots and pans or a fold down table to add temporary additional counter space.
