By this time next week the Hero project will officially be complete! This has been an amazing experience and we were very fortunate to be able to make it happen (with lot’s of help of course). This week alone our install team completed the installation of the new cabinetry and hardware. Additionally Conway Tile templated the kitchen for the new Vittoria White Quartz provided by Arizona Tile! The team at Southwest Kitchen visited Chaotes home to begin the creation of the DIY addition to the kitchen. The side panel of the refrigerator is being converted into a chalkboard/magnetic wall! Something both fun and functional for our Hero with a busy schedule. This side panel will be three tiered upon completion. The top will have a galvanized steel sheet attached, providing a magnetic board. The middle will be a chalkboard, and the bottom will stay as the gorgeous Hickory wood with Dusk stain. The chalkboard process was simple and easier than we expected. We started by measuring out the correct spacing and using painters tape to give us guidelines of where the 3in fillers will create the finished and framed look. We then used fine sand paper to sand out the grain making the panel even. After acclimating the paint we used a roller to evenly distribute the chalkboard paint. Not to mention we had a cute audience consisting of Chaotes very curious cats!
